We build custom decks and aluminum docks for homes, ranches and lake places around Ronan. Our shop is in Somers at the north end of the lake, and we work the Mission Valley through the season.
Mostly Decks, and Docks on the Smaller Water
Ronan sits inland, so the work here looks different than it does on the lake shore. Most of it is deck work: new aluminum decks, replacing wood that has gone soft, railings and stairs, and covered areas that have to take a real snow load under the Missions.
The dock work we do around Ronan is on the smaller water. Pablo and Ninepipe, Mission Reservoir, McDonald Lake, and private ponds. If you have Flathead Lake frontage up by Polson, that is the same crew and the same systems.
Reservoir Levels Change the Build
Irrigation draw means the reservoirs around here move a lot more over a season than the lake does. A dock set for full pool in June can be sitting over mud by late August. We build for that swing, with sections and height that can be adjusted, rather than a fixed structure you fight all summer.
On a pond the usual answer is a smaller aluminum platform or a short sectional dock that comes out in one afternoon.
Wind and Weather in the Mission Valley
The valley is open and the wind gets up. For a deck that means railings and fasteners that do not work loose, and footings set deep enough for the frost. Aluminum handles most of the rest: it does not rot, it does not need refinishing, and it will not warp after a hard winter.
We also repair decks and docks we did not build. Most aluminum systems, and plenty of wood we end up replacing.

Is Ronan too far for you to come?
No. It is about forty five minutes from the shop and we are down that way through the season. There is no travel charge.
Can you build a dock on a private pond?
Yes. Small aluminum platforms and short sectional docks work well on a pond, and they come out in an afternoon if you want them off for the winter.
Do you build decks that are not near water at all?
Most of our Ronan work is exactly that. Houses and ranch places, anywhere you want a deck that stops needing attention every spring.
