What Winter Prep Covers
Ice is the problem. It grips the frame, shifts as it freezes and thaws, and pushes anchoring out of place. Add a water level that rises and falls all winter and you get loosened hardware, bent framing and a repair list waiting for you in April.
Getting the dock out at the right time is the simplest way to avoid all of it.
What the job covers:
Disassembly. Sections come apart carefully, with framing and decking protected the whole way.
Hardware. Connectors and anchoring pieces get sorted and secured, so the spring reinstall goes back together the way it came apart.
Inspection. We look over every section as it comes out: framing, decking, hardware. You get a note of what should be fixed before it goes back in.
Storage prep. Everything is squared away for the off-season.
Timing. We schedule around the weather, your shoreline access and how your dock is laid out.

Why pull your dock out before winter hits?
Ice and winter drawdown can bend frames, shift anchors, and leave your dock sitting unevenly on exposed lakebed. Pulling it out before freeze-up avoids that damage and corrosion, so it's ready to go back in come spring without any costly repairs.
What happens during seasonal dock removal?
We disconnect the dock from its anchoring system, lift it out of the water, then inspect, clean, and store it properly for the winter. That keeps your dock and anchoring system protected from ice, freezing water, and drawdown stress until it's time to put it back in come spring.
Can winter still take a toll on aluminum docks?
Yes. Aluminum holds up well against rust, but that doesn't make it winter-proof. Ice can grip and shift frames and posts, bending components and putting stress on joints. Winter drawdown can also leave your dock sitting unevenly on exposed lakebed, adding even more strain. Pulling it out before freeze-up is still the best way to avoid that damage.
Do you check the dock over while removing it?
Yes. Every dock we take out gets a full inspection. We go over the frame, decking, hardware, and anchoring system, checking for wear, corrosion, and any loose or damaged connections. Catching problems in the fall means repairs get handled over winter, so your dock's good to go the moment spring arrives.
When's the right time to schedule seasonal dock removal?
Aim for early to mid-fall, before the lake starts icing over. Wait too long and removal gets a lot harder, sometimes impossible until the spring thaw. Booking early also helps you beat the fall rush, since most dock owners are all trying to schedule around the same window.
