Build a durable Custom Dock and Deck
Somers, Mt

Sky is the Limit
Our Most Complex Dock Build YetEvery dock we build comes with its own set of challenges, but this project pushed our team further than any before it. The client needed a dock system designed around two very different needs at once: secure boat access and a dedicated space to accommodate a water plane. That meant rethinking a standard dock layout from the ground up.We engineered an extendable section that gives the dock the flexibility to adjust to changing water levels and different vessel needs throughout the season — no permanent, fixed footprint required. Paired with that, we built in a foldable portion, allowing part of the dock to move out of the way when the water plane needs clearance, then fold back into place for everyday use.
Getting both features to work together, without compromising stability or safety, took careful planning and precise engineering. Every connection point, hinge, and support had to be built to handle real-world use — not just boat traffic, but the added weight, movement, and clearance requirements that come with a water plane docking alongside it.The result is a dock system that adapts to how our client actually uses their waterfront — flexible where it needs to be, solid where it counts. It's the kind of project that shows what's possible when a standard dock layout just won't cut it, and it's exactly the kind of challenge our team is built to take on.Have a waterfront setup that needs something custom? We'd love to talk through what's possible for your property.
We Can Build What You Need
No two waterfront properties are exactly alike, and neither are the ways people use them. Whether you need a dock that handles boats and recreational gear, adapts to fluctuating water levels, or accommodates something as unique as a water plane, our team has the experience to design and build a system around your specific needs — not the other way around.
If you've got a waterfront setup that doesn't fit a standard layout, we'd love to talk through what's possible. Reach out to Montana Legacy Docks & Decks and let's figure out what a custom-built dock could look like for your property.

Region Based Building
Building in Montana means designing for conditions most regions never have to think about — harsh winters, heavy ice movement, fluctuating lake and river levels, and temperature swings that put real stress on waterfront structures. A dock or deck built without those factors in mind won't hold up long, no matter how well it's constructed on paper. That's why every project we take on is built specifically for Montana's climate, from the materials we choose to how we engineer for freeze-thaw cycles and seasonal water changes. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach — it's building for the place your property actually sits.
