We are a family business serving Somers and the lake communities around it, and we build decks on two materials: aluminum framing and composite decking. The frame does not rot, rust or warp, so the bones stay solid. The composite surface resists moisture and holds its color, with a fraction of the sanding, staining and sealing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Deck Design and Construction
Why go with aluminum framing for a deck system?
It does not rot, warp or draw insects, and it handles freeze and thaw without moving. A wood substructure on a lake lot is fighting moisture its whole life. Aluminum is not, so the frame outlasts whatever surface goes on top of it.
What are the benefits of composite decking?
No sanding, no staining, no sealing. It holds its color instead of graying out, and it does not splinter underfoot. Put it on an aluminum frame and the deck stops being a yearly chore.
Can custom decks be built for waterfront properties?
Yes, and most of ours are. On a lake lot the grade down to the water is where the planning goes. We design around the slope, the exposure and how the deck meets the dock, rather than setting a standard rectangle on the back of the house.
How long does custom deck construction typically take?
Most builds run a few days to a couple of weeks once we are on site. Multi level decks, built in seating and anything that ties into a dock take longer. We give you a window when we quote it.
Can deck layouts be designed with entertaining in mind?
Yes. Tell us how you actually use it. Feeding a crowd on the Fourth needs a different layout than two chairs and coffee in the morning. Open space, built in seating, a grilling area, separate levels, all of it is on the table.
