Dock Builder in Whitefish, MT
We build and service aluminum docks on Whitefish Lake. We are based in Somers, which is a short drive over, and we are on that water regularly through the season.
Whitefish Lake Is Its Own Thing
Whitefish is a different lake than Flathead and it behaves differently. It is smaller and deeper in places, it freezes harder and earlier most years, and the shoreline is steeper on a lot of the lots.
That changes the build. Leg lengths, where the ramp lands, how far out the dock needs to reach before the water is deep enough to tie up. We size all of it for your spot rather than dropping in a stock layout.
What We Do Here
New aluminum docks designed for your shoreline, with slips, swim platforms, lifts and sitting areas as you want them.
Repairs on docks that have been bent, loosened or shifted, including ones we did not build.
Fall removal and spring launching, which matters more on Whitefish because the ice comes in earlier.
Get the Removal Date Right
The single most common mistake on Whitefish is leaving the dock in too long. Ice forms earlier here than on Flathead, and once it grips the frame it bends things. Early to mid fall, and earlier in a cold year. Call ahead, the fall schedule fills.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work on Whitefish Lake as well as Flathead?
Yes, regularly. Somers to Whitefish is a short drive and we are over there through the season.
My lot drops off steeply. Is that a problem?
No, it just changes the design. We size the legs and the ramp for the grade and the depth you actually have.
When should my dock come out?
Earlier than on Flathead. Early to mid fall, before the ice starts forming.
Can you also build the deck at the house?
Yes. Aluminum framing and composite decking, same as the docks.
